70MM of Hateful

În cinematografie, unul dintre cele mai renumite (și tot odată, unul dintre cele mai înalte standarde) formate de film este filmul de 70mm. S-ar crede că, în era digitală, formatele astea clasice de film devin piese de muzeu. Însă nu este cazul, întotdeauna. Anul trecut, celebrul regizor Quentin Tarantino, a filmat “The Hateful Eight” pe rolă de film de 70mm, care deja este considerată depășită pentru tehnologiile prezentului. În decursul a 15 zile, timp în care filmul a fost rulat de 59 de ori, Andrew Walker (fondatorul studioului “599 Productions“) a surprins procesul fascinant de derulare a cadrelor, chiar în timpul proiectării lor în cinematograf.  Timelapse hipnotizant.

“I was lucky enough to be one of the projectionists to work on the 70mm roadshow for “The Hateful Eight” and this is what I captured during the 59 showings the film over the course of 15 days. The whole thing was quite an experience and it made me appreciate film all over again. Shot with a Nikon D810 using the Kessler TLS system and a Second Shooter.
